Kobo Market is Kyoto's largest fair held on the 21st of every month, the monthly memorial day of Kobo Daishi, within the grounds of Toji Temple. Around 1,200 stalls offer a diverse array of antiques, vintage kimono, pottery, food, and handmade goods. You can enjoy the treasure hunting experience of seeking out hidden gems, making it popular with foreign travelers as well. The unique atmosphere of shopping with the National Treasure Five-Story Pagoda as your backdrop is distinctly Kyoto. December's year-end Kobo Market is especially bustling.
