Tango Chirimen Weaving Experience

Yosano is a major production area for Tango Chirimen with over 300 years of silk textile history. At the experience workshop attached to a local textile factory, you can experience weaving small items of Tango Chirimen using hand looms. The characteristic features of Tango Chirimen are the lustrous silk and the unique crepe texture created by the strong twist of the weft yarn. Under the guidance of craftspeople, you can create coasters and stoles in approximately 60-90 minutes. At the factory tour, you can also see the impressive sight of large power looms in operation.
