Kamigamo Organic Marche

The organic marche held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the grounds of Kamigamo Shrine, a World Heritage site, is a popular market where organic farmers and handmade food producers from around Kyoto gather. Pesticide-free Kyoto vegetables, natural yeast bread, home-roasted coffee, homemade jam, and other carefully selected foods are displayed. The appeal is being able to shop while having direct conversations with the producers, and shopping in the refreshing air of the shrine is particularly special. It's also popular with local families.
