Amanohashidate · Matanozoki Viewpoint
One of Japan's Three Great Sights, Amanohashidate appears as a bridge spanning the heavens when viewed through matanozoki (upside-down viewing)
Amanohashidate is a sandbar extending approximately 3.6 km into Miyazu Bay and is one of Japan's Three Great Sights. When viewed upside-down from the observation deck at Kasamatsu Park, the sandbar appears as a bridge spanning the heavens—this 'matanozoki' viewing technique is famous. The sandbar, where about 8,000 pine trees grow densely, can be traversed by rental bicycle or on foot, with sandy beaches and rocky shores along the way. The views from the observation decks accessed by lift or cable car are beautiful throughout all four seasons.
