Water Discharge from Tsujunkyo Bridge
上益城郡山都町, Kumamoto
The spectacular water arch powerfully discharged from Tsujunkyo Bridge, a National Important Cultural Property, is breathtaking
Tsujunkyo Bridge is Japan's largest stone arch aqueduct built in 1854 and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. The water discharge to prevent waterway blockages is incredibly powerful, and the water arches that burst out from the center of the bridge to both sides are a must-see. The water discharge usually takes place at noon on weekends and holidays, and the surrounding terraced rice field scenery is also beautiful. It's a hidden gem spot in Kumamoto.
