Yamaga Lanterns and Yachiyoza Theater

Yamaga lanterns are intricate crafts assembled using only Japanese paper and paste, and are designated as traditional crafts by the nation. At the Lantern Folk Art Museum, you can observe traditional craftsmen's techniques up close. During the Yamaga Lantern Festival in August each year, women dance while wearing lanterns on their heads, creating a fantastical spectacle. The Meiji-era playhouse, Yachiyoza, is also a must-see.
