Yosakoi Dance Workshop
A workshop to learn the Yosakoi dance from Kochi at its birthplace. Experience the exhilaration of dancing while holding naruko (wooden clappers).
The Yosakoi Festival is held every August in Kochi City and is a representative dance celebration of Japan, with approximately 200 teams and 20,000 dancers participating. In the workshop, you can learn the basic Yosakoi steps, how to play the naruko, and choreography from local teams. The experience of dancing to rhythmic music while striking the naruko serves as aerobic exercise using your whole body, and the exhilaration after finishing is incomparable. It's possible to experience it outside of festival season as well.
