Sunset View at Gotaiyama Observation Deck

Gotaiyama is a 146-meter-high mountain located in the eastern part of Kochi City. From the observation deck at the summit, a 360-degree panorama unfolds, overlooking Kochi City, Urauwan Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. Particularly at dusk, the setting sun in the west colors Urauwan Bay in orange, revealing a fantastical scenery. The mountain also features the Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden, which is associated with botanist Makino Tomitaro, and it is a tourist spot that gained attention through the morning drama 'Ranman'.
