Original Akita Kiritanpo-ya

A specialty restaurant where you can savor 'kiritanpo nabe,' Akita Prefecture's signature local dish. Mashed rice is wrapped around a cedar stick and grilled as kiritanpo, then simmered together with vegetables and mushrooms in a rich Hinai-jidori chicken broth. The kiritanpo infused with chicken umami is exceptional. Located conveniently in front of Akita Station, you can easily stop by between sightseeing. It's wonderful to also enjoy other Akita specialties like inaniwa udon and hatahata.
