Cherry Blossom Corridor of Kitakami Tenshoji

Kitakami Tenshoji is counted among the three greatest cherry blossom viewing spots in Michinoku, with approximately 10,000 cherry trees planted over about 2km along the Kitakami River. Centered around Yoshino cherry trees, 150 different varieties of cherry blossoms bloom successively, offering an extended viewing period from mid-April to early May. During the season, sightseeing carriages and koinobori (carp streamers) are also displayed, and the reflection of cherry blossoms and koinobori on the river's surface is an emblematic sight representing spring in Tohoku. In the evening, illuminations are held, allowing visitors to enjoy the magical beauty of night-blooming cherry blossoms.
