A tour around the scattered Gama stones, Benkei Shichido, and other unusual rock formations dotting the area near Tsukuba Mountain's summit
The summit area of Tsukuba Mountain is dotted with strangely shaped rocks created by nature. The 'Gama Stone,' which resembles a toad's mouth, is the birthplace of Tsukuba Mountain's famous 'toad oil sales pitch.' The course passes by distinctive rock formations such as 'Benkei Shichido,' where a massive boulder looms overhead, and 'De-fune Iri-fune,' where rocks nestle together like a married couple, taking about 1 hour to complete. It can be enjoyed alongside the spectacular view of the Kanto Plain from the summit.
