Tamba-yaki Climbing Kiln Tour and Pottery-Making Experience

Tamba-yaki is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns with a history of approximately 850 years, characterized by simple and warm-toned aesthetics. In the Tamba Tatekui Pottery Village where pottery kilns gather, you can view active climbing kilns and experience creating your own unique pottery using a pottery wheel or hand-shaping techniques. With different glazes and firing methods used by each workshop, distinctive pieces are created, and finished pieces are delivered after firing. It's also an area where you can enjoy touring the pottery workshops.
