Asago and Takeda Castle Ruins: Sea of Clouds
A fantastical sea of clouds viewed from the Takeda Castle Ruins, known as the 'Castle in the Sky'
Takeda Castle Ruins are the remains of a mountain castle built at 354m elevation. When shrouded in a sea of clouds that appears in the early mornings of autumn and winter, the ruins display a fantastical appearance called the 'Castle in the Sky.' The sea of clouds viewed from the castle ruins appears as if floating above the clouds themselves. The panoramic view from the facing Rikkuunkyo is also a popular photography spot. From the castle ruins where stone walls remain, a 360-degree panorama unfolds, and the site offers spectacular views even on clear days.
