Experience an exciting night of Bon dancing and fireworks at the Dekancho Festival, a summer tradition of Tamba Sasayama
The Dekancho Festival in Tamba Sasayama is a Bon dance gathering with over 400 years of history, held every year on August 15-16. The sight of people of all ages dancing in a circle to the upbeat rhythm of "Dekancho-bushi" is spectacular, and walk-in participation is also welcome. The climax is moving, with approximately 2,000 fireworks launching over the Sasayama Castle ruins as the backdrop. During the festival period, food stalls line up, and you can also enjoy famous local cuisine of Tamba Sasayama such as wild boar hot pot and black soybeans.
