Himeji Kōkoen Garden
An authentic Japanese garden spreading beside Himeji Castle where you can appreciate the scenic beauty of each season
Kōkoen is a Japanese garden of approximately 10,000 tsubo created on the former site of the west residence of Himeji Castle. Nine gardens with different characteristics are arranged, featuring strolling gardens with ponds and springs, tea gardens, bamboo gardens, and other spaces that concentrate the beauty of Japanese gardens. The garden scenery with Himeji Castle's white egret as a backdrop is exceptional, and the autumn foliage illumination is particularly enchanting. You can enjoy matcha tea in the tea house while spending peaceful moments.
