Akagi Shrine and the Serene Waterside of Lake Onuma

Akagi Shrine stands on the shores of Lake Onuma, a summit caldera lake on Mount Akagi, with its vermillion shrine buildings beautifully reflected in the lake's surface. Known as a power spot for matchmaking, it is said to fulfill women's wishes. During autumn's fall foliage season, the area surrounding Lake Onuma is painted in reds and yellows, creating a spectacular contrast with the lake's surface. In winter, it is also known as a mecca for smelt ice fishing.
