Seki City has been a center of blade production since the Kamakura period and stands alongside Germany's Solingen as one of the world's premier centers for edged tools. The shop annexed to the Blades Museum offers a wide range of Seki blades, from household kitchen knives to professional-grade Japanese kitchen knives, scissors, and nail clippers. You can also observe blade-sharpening demonstrations by skilled craftsmen, and the shop provides services such as engraving and resharpening for your purchased knives. The annual Blades Festival in October is particularly lively.
