Nokogiri Mountain Hell Vista and Nihon-ji Temple Great Buddha
Experience the thrill and wonder of the 'Hell Vista' steep cliff and the colossal carved Buddha
Nokogiri Mountain is a low mountain with an elevation of 329 meters located in the southern part of the Boso Peninsula, but its attractions are truly remarkable. The 'Hell Vista' near the summit is a thrilling observation platform overlooking Tokyo Bay from vertically carved rock cliffs. The 31-meter-tall Great Buddha enshrined within Nihon-ji Temple's grounds is Japan's largest stone Buddha, surpassing the Great Buddha of Nara, and captivates visitors with its magnificent presence. It's easily accessible by ropeway, and the group of 1,500 Arhat stone statues is also well worth seeing.
