Traditional Craft Shopping at Naritasan Approach
Purchase Japanese traditional crafts such as lacquerware and bamboo crafts at the main approach to Naritasan Shinshoji
The approximately 800-meter main approach leading to Naritasan Shinshoji features established souvenir and craft shops that have been in operation since the Edo period. Handcrafted masterpieces gathered here include Boso bamboo crafts, Shimosa lacquerware, Naritasan amulets, and handmade Japanese candles—all created by skilled craftsmen. This spot is also popular with international travelers during airplane layovers from Narita Airport, and is treasured as the last shopping destination for Japanese culture. Be sure to visit the long-established eel restaurants as well.
