Katsuura Ama Free Diving Experience

Katsuura is one of Chiba Prefecture's remaining regions with active ama diving traditions. There is an experience program where you learn the basics of free diving from working ama divers and actually dive in the sea. It includes a seaside cooking experience where freshly caught turban shell and abalone are grilled on the spot. This is a valuable experience where you can enjoy the Boso Sea with all five senses while learning about the history of ama culture and marine ecosystems.
