Kamogawa Terraced Rice Field Owner Experience

Oyama Senmaida is Japan's terraced rice field closest to Tokyo, spread across the mountainous region of the Boso Peninsula. Through the terraced rice field owner program, you can experience rice cultivation year-round from spring planting to autumn harvesting. As an exchange hub between urban and rural communities, programs for learning sun-dried rice farming and satoyama ecosystems are also available. At October's 'Tanada no Akari' event, approximately 10,000 torches illuminate the terraced fields in a magical spectacle.
