Bifuka Matsuyama Wetland Boardwalk

Matsuyama Wetland in Bifuka Town is Japan's northernmost alpine wetland, spanning an elevation of 797m. Along the well-maintained walking paths with wooden boardwalks, you can observe up close carnivorous plants like sundew and the fantastical landscapes of pools created by sphagnum moss. Seasonal highlights include cotton grass in June and golden flowers in July among other wetland plants. Surrounded by silence, this wetland is a separate world where you can feel the mysteries of nature.
