Beppu Hell Steaming Cuisine
A specialty dish of Beppu's Tetsuwara hot spring area where vegetables and seafood are steamed using hot spring steam. A natural flavor with concentrated umami from the finest ingredients.
Hell Steaming is a traditional cooking method utilizing approximately 100-degree hot spring steam that has been passed down in Beppu's Tetsuwara hot spring area. At the Hell Steaming Workshop, you can experience selecting your favorite ingredients and putting them into a hot spring steam pot to wait for them to finish cooking. By steaming diverse ingredients such as seafood, vegetables, eggs, and custard, excess fat drips away while hot spring minerals seep into the inherent flavors of the ingredients. The true essence of Hell Steaming is that it becomes delicious using almost no seasoning. Please experience this culinary adventure unique to Beppu.
