Masuda Uchigura Shop in Yokote

In the Masuda district of Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, many 'uchigura' (elaborate warehouses built inside merchant houses) remain. Some of them are utilized as cafés and select shops, where you can purchase local crafts and food in the warehouse's substantial space. There is a rich selection of Akita traditional crafts such as birch bark work and Kawatsura lacquerware. Can be enjoyed together with warehouse tours.
