Seto Retro Town Walk
In Seto City, the city of Setomono ceramics, stroll through a retro townscape lined with pottery workshops and ceramic galleries
Seto City is a ceramics production area with over 1,000 years of history and is the city that gave rise to the term 'Setomono.' Pottery workshops with chimneys and retro ceramic galleries are scattered throughout the kiln-wall pathways and the area around Fukawa Shrine, where you can enjoy strolling while experiencing the history of pottery-making. The annual September 'Setomono Festival' features over 200 stalls and is one of Japan's largest ceramics markets. Beyond the festival, you can also encounter outlet ceramics sold directly from pottery workshops and unique works by emerging artists.
