An outdoor museum where more than 60 buildings from the Meiji era have been relocated for a journey through time
Meiji Mura is one of Japan's largest outdoor museums, with 67 buildings from the Meiji era relocated and preserved on a hilly area by the Iruka Pond. You can actually enter and view valuable buildings including the former main entrance of the Imperial Hotel and St. Francis Xavier Church, which are designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan. You can also experience riding an SL train and Kyoto tram, and enjoy taking commemorative photos dressed in Meiji-era clothing.
