Tateyama Snow Wall Walk

The "Snow Wall Walk" held annually from mid-April to mid-June is a spectacular event where visitors walk between snow walls up to 20 meters high that appear through snow removal near Murododaira on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The pristine white snow walls towering on both sides represent a collaboration between the forces of nature and human technology. This spring tradition attracts tourists from around the world, and at an elevation of 2,450 meters in the crisp clear air, the contrast between the remaining snow and blue sky creates an overwhelming sense of grandeur.
