Shinjuku 2-chome is known as Asia's largest LGBTQ town, with approximately 300 bars, clubs, and cafes densely packed in the area. Centered around gay bars, the district features diverse establishments including lesbian bars, mixed bars, and drag queen show bars. In recent years, 'mixed bars' that welcome everyone regardless of sexuality have increased, making the area more accessible to tourists and foreign visitors. It is also known as the hub of Tokyo Rainbow Pride each April, a district overflowing with diversity and inclusivity.
