The Shikoku pilgrimage is a spiritual journey visiting the 88 sacred temples associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai, walking the entire approximately 1400km route. While the complete pilgrimage takes 40-60 days, sectional pilgrimage is also available. Dressed in pilgrim attire—white robe, sedge hat, and walking staff—you'll experience the warmth of 'osettai' (local hospitality), providing profound spiritual experiences not found in everyday life. Beginning in Naruto City, home to Temple No. 1 Ryozenji, it's a spiritual journey you can start at your own pace.
