Tanuki Koji Shopping Street
Sapporo's representative arcade shopping street with over 140 years of history. Offers everything from souvenirs to dining.
Tanuki Koji Shopping Street is Sapporo's oldest shopping street, established in 1873, with approximately 200 shops lining an arcade spanning about 900m east to west. It features a diverse selection of Hokkaido souvenir shops, drugstores, clothing stores, and restaurants, offering comfortable shopping even on rainy or snowy days. In recent years, it has developed a unique atmosphere where established shops coexist with new cafes and bars. As night falls, neon lights glow, and it bustles with tourists traveling between here and Susukino. It's the ideal spot for finding Hokkaido-limited sweets and goods.
