Railway Museum
JR East's Railway Museum. Experience the history and technology of railways through 36 real vehicles on display and a driving simulator.
Japan's largest-class railway museum that opened in Omiya in 2007. The history zone displaying about 36 real vehicles is impressive, allowing you to see the evolution of Japanese railways in one place, from steam locomotives to Shinkansen. The simulator where you can experience being a driver is popular with adults too. The diorama model train operation show is also worth viewing. With the 2018 renovation, the south building was added, introducing the history and future of Shinkansen. It's also enjoyable to eat ekiben (station bento) while watching real trains.
