Obi Castle Town
The Obi Castle Town, called the 'Little Kyoto of Kyushu.' A stroll to savor the beautiful samurai townscape and street food.
Obi is a historic town that flourished as the castle town of the Ito clan, and retains charming townscapes known as the 'Little Kyoto of Kyushu.' Points of interest such as the main gate of Obi Castle, samurai residential streets, and stone walls of the merchant town are scattered throughout, making a popular route with a food-walk map in hand to enjoy local specialties like Obi-ten and thick-rolled egg. In particular, Obi-ten is a unique fried dish made by mixing fish cake paste with tofu, and the fluffy texture of freshly fried pieces is exquisite. You can enjoy a stroll as if you've traveled back in time, surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of the castle town.
