Kinosaki Onsen is a historic hot spring town known as the setting of Shiga Naoya's novella 'At Kinosaki.' Inns line the beautiful Otani River shaded by willows, and lodgers can freely tour seven public baths. Strolling through the hot spring town in yukata and wooden sandals while visiting the baths is a seasonal tradition unique to Kinosaki. Winter crab dishes are also superb.
