A wooden ryokan epitomizing Ginzan Onsen's Taisho-era romance. A charming establishment designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
Notoya Ryokan, particularly emblematic of Ginzan Onsen, is a three-story wooden ryokan built in Taisho 10 (1921) and designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property. Its exterior, adorned with plaster carvings known as kote-e (trowel art), retains the distinctive romantic character of the Taisho era. The hot spring features naturally flowing sodium chloride waters, and guests can enjoy cave baths and private baths. Cuisine featuring Obanazawa beef and local mountain vegetables is also highly praised. Reservations are so sought after that advance planning is essential.
