Nezu Museum
A serene museum one step away from the bustle of Omotesando. Ancient Japanese and Oriental art including 7 National Treasures and a beautiful garden.
A private museum displaying the collection of Nezu Kaichiro, the first president of Tobu Railway. It holds approximately 7,400 ancient Japanese and Oriental artworks, including 7 National Treasures and 87 Important Cultural Properties. The modern architecture designed by Kengo Kuma harmonizes beautifully with the Japanese garden of approximately 17,000 square meters. Tea houses are scattered throughout the garden, and you can stroll around the pond. The exhibition period of Ogata Kōrin's 'Iris Flowers Screen Panels' (every year in April-May) is particularly crowded. You are struck by the fact that such a serene space exists in a location just steps away from Omotesando's fashion street.
