Tokoname Pottery Walking Trail and Ceramic Experience
Stroll through retro alleys lined with clay pipes and shochu bottles, and try your hand at making teapots
Located near Chubu Centrair International Airport, Tokoname City is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns. The Pottery Walking Trail offers approximately 1.6km of strolling through landscapes that evoke the history of the ceramic industry, including chimneys, kilns, and the famous clay pipe slope. Along the way, galleries and cafes are scattered throughout, where you can enjoy tea served in Tokoname-yaki teapots and mugs. At the pottery workshop, you can try your hand at creating Tokoname ceramics using electric pottery wheels or hand-building techniques. The excellent accessibility makes it perfect for a visit before or after using the airport.
